Young Life Thanksgiving Meal

Please be praying for our thanksgiving meal that we are going to provide for our high school friends on November 23rd. Fellowship Bible will be hosting the meal and our committee will be cooking and serving. For many of our high school friends, this will be the only holiday meal they receive so pray that they might receive a special touch from the Lord through our time together.

Polar Bear Weekend

This past weekend we ventured to Castle Bluff in NW Arkansas for an incredible Polar Bear Weekend. There were over 140 kids there from Conway, Little Rock, Fayettville, Texarkana and Russellville. We have been taking kids for the past 13 years to deepen our friendships and give them an opportunity to hear about the God who loves them and the Son who gave his life for them. The leaders and kids had many spiritual conversations and those will continue throughout the year.

Thanks to our Friends of Young Life

Thank you so much to everyone who helped with our Young Life Dessert. It was a wonderful evening and I feel like everyone there had some great desserts and a great time hearing about the ministry of Young Life! I wanted to say a special thanks to our three young ladies (Jordan Berry, Krystal Lopez and Stephanie Berry) who shared their stories with us. Praise the Lord for their transformed lives! Thanks also to our event sponsors: Luke and Kimberly Porter and The Kitchen Store.

Conway High Graduation

Here are a few of our kids on their graduation night!
I have known most of these kids since they were in the eighth grade. Many have come to know Jesus personally, but still there are some who continue to search for the truth. Please continue to pray for God to do a mighty work in their lives in the years to come.

Senior Brunch

We had a wonderful time with a few of our seniors the day before graduation. The food was incredible and the conversations were filled with memories from club to camp! Camp seemed to dominate most of the two hours we spent together. They talked about all of the fun: the ropes course, the blob, the bus ride, the hike up Sharptop Mountain, the rock climbing, the food and the friends! Young Life is all about relationships and I have a feeling that this group of kids will hold on to those for the rest of their lives.

A "No Matter What Faith"

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior."

Habakkuk 3:17-18

Is this the kind of faith the God wants for us? This has been a huge verse in my life as God has continue to "show up" over and over. May you be blessed by these words today!

16th Annual Funky BBQ!

I just got home from Ihop where I was drinking some coffee with our East side leadership team. They have been working so hard this year and loving kids who are really hurting and longing for significance. Tonight was our last club of the school year and also our 16th annual Funky BBQ where "It's all you can eat, 'cause it's all we got". There were over 50 kids there tonight and our team signed up 8 new kids for summer camp. Praise the Lord.

Summer Camp

We are heading into the summer and are still signing kids up for camp. Hopefully we will send about 18 of our high school friends and 10 of our teen mothers and their babies to camp this summer. Our Young Life club's are headed to Crooked Creek Ranch, Colorado and our YoungLives group is going to Lost Canyon, Arizona. They will all experience the "Best Week of Their Lives". Many will never be the same as they are impacted by the love of Jesus Christ!

5th Annual Young Life/Incite Golf Challenge

We had another successful year with our golf tournament. Thanks to Incite Rehab and all the golfers who worked hard to make this year's tourney a great time. Also, congratulations to Paul Kostecky who took home the Top Fund-raiser award for the third time in 5 years!

God is Good

Tonight as I got home and reflected on the day, I was reminded how good God is to this mission. All in one night, our East club met and kids heard about Jesus, our West club met and a new group of kids heard about who Jesus is and a group of 13 college girls attended a bible study with some of our leaders. This is beyond me and that's a great thing. I really feel that God is moving this mission past where a few staff people could take it. It truly is becoming a God thing! And that's a beautiful thing! I hope and pray that God moves in a mighty way in this community and the result is TRANSFORMED LIVES. Praise God.

Leadership

80's dance party, 70 best friends, bonfires and the gospel-where can you get all this? Only at the Arkansas Young Life Leadership weekend! All of our leaders went to a little camp in NW Arkansas to fellowship together and grow in their faith. We heard from Jud Jones and John Evans about four key areas of leadership: the Heart, the Head, the Hands and the Habits of servant leaders. Everyone was equipped and encouraged through worship, teaching and time spent processing in small groups. Weekends like this are so precious when you spend most of your time pouring out into other people's lives. The leaders got a chance to rest and be renewed. Conway Young Life is very blessed to have so many solid college folks who are willing to give their lives away so others can come to know Jesus personally.

Every summer we take our high school friends to one of Young Life's Summer Camp Properties. This summer we are headed to Colorado and the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Spending a week at a summer camp can be life changing for a lot of our friends. God always shows up in incredible ways. Take a look at this video and see what your child could do this summer with us! Welcome to Young Life in Conway

Young Life is an incredible mission that has been in Conway since 1965. Since then teenagers have been hearing and responding to the love of Jesus Christ. Our mission is simple we are dedicated to introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. As simple as that sounds, the action of loving the lost is not that easy. Our staff and volunteers spend countless hours each week going to where kids are, spending time with them in their world. This can often be very intimidating, if not just down right scary. Our leaders go to schools, sporting events, concert venues-where ever kids are that's where we want to be! Earning the right to share with them our lives! I Thessalonians2:8 says, "We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us". This is what our leaders live out every day with their middle school and high school friends. They are loving them into the kingdom if you will. I feel that now more than ever, as a body of believers, we have to reach out into the world with the love of Christ! May God bless you as you go out to love those around you.
